Medication
There is always some risk in taking a drug to assist you with a psychological or behavioral problem. The benefits should outweigh the risks.
I am not anti-medication. I have seen medication change lives for the better. I have also seen it used unnecessarily and inappropriately, which does nothing to contribute to long term and sustainable happiness. The nature of the problem and severity of your symptoms will determine if I have a recommendation for a medication evaluation.
Help Within a Context
I do not believe it is possible to isolate a concern or problem from its context. There is in my experience no line between mind and body: the distinction is philosophical. It has little to do with our everyday existence, which includes our history, our present moment, our hopes and dreams, our gifts, and the challenges we face from the world around us and from within.
Engaging in therapy isn't always easy: it is a commitment to a process of change.
