WHAT IS A LEGITIMATE QUALIFICATION TRAINING?

Is It Possible That My Training Won't Qualify?
You will qualify if you attend this one. The US DOT has thusfar declined to endorse any SAP qualification training. It must comply with 49 CFR 40.281/c & d and their guidance. These requirements aren't confusing. Obviously you have to get training in full compliance with regulations. You can't just say you got training on drug treatment and claim it's SAP Qualification Training. Click here to download the CV of the author of this workshop. Decide for yourself if this is someone who takes training and his reputation as an author seriously. Evan is a student of the safety program. Beware of self-proclaimed experts. The Pros and Cons of a Web or Notebook Training
You can get SAP Qualification Training from a notebook or website. It's inexpensive. Notebooks and web pages don't answer questions. Even if they do offer an e-mail or telephone hotline for questions, you don't benefit from the discussion of others with questions you wouldn't think to ask. You might learn less.

The Pros and Cons of a Classroom Training
In a group you get the benefit of being able to get satisfactory answers to your questions and to learn from the group, not just the curriculum. That's if your trainer is both a skilled facilitator and knowledgeable teacher. You also have to set aside a couple days and travel to where ever you trainer flew in and it's expensive. Why? Everyone who contributed to the training takes a slice of the pie, AKA your money. You'll likely learn more, but is it convenient or affordable? Not always.

A New Path To SAP Qualification and Re-qualification
A trainer willing to travel who was both the author and the registrar can give you some say as to when and where the training would take place. More convenient and less travel expense for participants.

The author of this training also believes we should take this into the current century. When was the last time you found something you needed quickly in a thick notebook or binder? Many of us use computers, laptops, and pads to find what we need today. A modern SAP Qualification Training should work the way we do every day: over 2,000 pages of resource materials will be provided on a CD you can copy onto your laptop, pad or device to search in seconds. The last training - and the next - includes encrypted WiFi Internet access as part of your learning experience. You don't need to be technically sophisticated: if you can send and receive e-mail, you already have the skills to benefit.

When Classrooms Fail
Classrooms fail when the trainer prints out the slides, gives you the slides, and reads you the slides. You could have saved a lot of money having them mail you those slides. Classrooms succeed when the presentation is dynamic and participants actively participate. We learn best when we learn actively, so there will be no staring at the back of other people's heads while crammed into classroom rows.

100% of training participants have been surveyed. All of them have said that they would recommend this training to fellow professionals.

SAP Qualification Training Should Be Creative?
Absolutely. Training should be interesting and challenging. Rules and guidance change frequently, not just every three years. A good SAP is a student all the time. There's one way to find out what to do to make sure the decisions you make best protect public safety.

What US DOT Says About What It Means To Be An SAP
Because you choose to be a SAP, you elect to have a special relationship and bond with everyone the employee will encounter if that employee returns to the performance of safety-sensitive duties. The traveling public is made up of kids, moms, dads, boyfriends, girlfriends, wives, husbands, partners, close friends, acquaintances, strangers, co-workers, neighbors, and many others. All are riding on, literally and figuratively, the decisions you make. In your counseling work, you always view the person walking through your door as your client, and rightfully so: Now DOT is asking that you view the public as your client as well.
