Payback Time

2007 was the first year of business for evanmpeterson, LLC, and I have plenty of blessings to count. I am grateful for all of the people who placed their faith in me last year. These did more than that: they put money in my pocket. And it's payback time.

We are here to make the world a better place and there are no insignificant acts of compassion. It's why I volunteer for the Red Cross when time allows. But I can't always drop what I'm doing when they call, which is something for which they have infinite patience. So as long as people bless me with their business, I will in the first quarter of each succeeding year donate an amount equal to 10% of last year's take home pay to charity.

This year I selected Doctors Without Borders. My donation was made in the name of a friend who died suddenly in November.

Each day we have on this earth is a gift and the number of them is finite. Please do not sit and wonder if this world will be a better place for you having been in it. You have the power, so be concerned about what you will do about it today. Celebrate life to the fullest and practice compassion so that when we leave this place, it will be better because we were here. Pay it forward and pay it back.
